A short biography of our Company
ParaglidingSpain is a sister company of Zero Gravity Parapente, a spanish company developed and aimed at foreign paragliding pilots. We are offering a new concept in adventure tourism for you to learn to fly whilst enjoying a paragliding holiday in southern Spain.
More than a decade of teaching paragliding is our guarantee…our instructors have thousands of hours of flight, a wealth of experience and some of them still compete at a high level in competition.
Our Paragliding School is recognized and approved by several aerial federations and associations: FAI (International Aerial Federation), RFAE (Spanish Aerial Federation), FEADA (Aerial Sports Andalucia Federation), APPI (Association of paragliding pilots & instructors) and the BHPA (British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association).
Why Flying by Locals?
We are at Spain, and we are spanish guys in love with these mountains and proud of the place we live. Some foreign paragliding companies came to here later. But we don’t only know these mountains… we are part of them.
Of course, we know the flying sites and the sky, but we also know the best places to eat tapas, to drink the sweetest tinto de verano or to celebrate a fantastic flying day with an ice cold beer. Don’t just fly at Spain, Live Spain! We bring you closer to the Spanish culture, gastronomy and its people than ever.
Our team: Professional instructors
We have put together our knowledge and experience to build up a team a of professional paragliding instructors that provides an excellent service for our guests. We all come to work every day because we love what we do… and we love flying.
Jose. Chief Paragliding Instructor. Tandem Pilot. Flying since 1991
At first he intended to be a civil engineer, and in fact he was, but not a very good one… but he was also a paragliding pilot fully motivated to become an Instructor. He spent a long time flying in competitions, and even he won some of them! One thing led to another and some years later this fortunate turn of events has lead him to have his own paragliding school and to work as a professional for over 15 years.
Javi. Paragliding Instructor. Tandem Pilot. Flying since 2001
Javi loves surf, cats, and “bodybuilding”. But he is also a good cook! You must try his moroccan sweets or his cookies… but to be honest, his macrobiotic salad tastes bad. Fortunately he is a very good paragliding tandem pilot and the healthiest instructor that we have in our staff.
Pablo. Paragliding Instructor. Tandem & Acro Pilot. Flying since 2006
Pablo is the young boy of our crew… but this doesn’t mean that the other members are old guys at all… ok? He has a lot of toys, but his favourite is his paraglider (he loves to fly acro maneuvers). Other toys that he loves are an electric guitar & drums… so, his neighbours are very happy when he goes to fly.
Jose Javier. Paragliding Instructor. Tandem Pilot. Flying since 1991
When Jose Javier is not being a jerk by forgetting to switch on his Go Pro camera during the paragliding tandem flights, eating salmorejo or speaking in any of his four languages, he enjoys travelling around the Mediterranean sea in his own sailing boat. On the other hand, he is one of the best paragliding instructor that we know and, because this, we love him.
Two amazing trips!
My time with Jose and Beatriz in completing both the EP and CP course in Algodonales was fantastic. Their tuition has been central towards my progression and they have shown great patience and a huge depth of knowledge.
Algodonales is a stunning place and the school flies from a large selection of sites. During the two courses I was lucky enough to experience thermalling with eagles and buzzards and ridge soaring along what felt like endless dunes off the South Coast.
Unlike the unpredictable weather here in the UK, we completed a large number of flights during the courses owing to the stable conditions of the area.
I am now looking to book a Low Airtime Course with the school to further my learnings!!!
Back to flying
When, after more than 10 years break in paragliding, I started to look where would be the best to refresh my rusty flying skills, and escape "harsh" New Zealand winter for a while at the same time, pretty few options appeared around: Australia, California, Hawaii, Chile, Spain, ...
After meticulously weighting all pros and cons, eventually my choice fell on Zero Gravity - everything looked good here: the course I needed, the location, the accommodation and small group size, prompt replies on my enquiries, the deal, ... So I booked "Low airtime pilots" course with Jose Ramon and his great team and, at the end, it turned to be even better than I anticipated. Besides of effective flying experience, there was much of pleasure of been in beautiful Andalusia and with an interesting and friendly team of mate pilots.
From being picked up at the airport to returning to the same airport, the time spent with Jose and his VERY professional team was a fantastic experience.
I was extremely comfortable with every aspect of the training given and cannot fault my time in Angodonales at all.
If you are considering paragliding, Jose and his staff are the best to work with.
